This article presents an exploration into the apocryphal Biblical Gospel of Peter, discussing the evidence of laments and mourning rituals of 1st century Judaism seen in the text. The passage of Peter 12.50 is particularly highlighted, outlining its examples of mourning rituals in the description of the resurrection event. Comparisons are also given from other Gospel passages.
