- Authors
Bandoh, Jose
- Abstract
The article focuses on the impact of democratic elections on the economy and political condition in Ghana. The country was under British rule before 1954 where native elites in high positions had little effective power. Ghana gained independence from the British government when the native elites and the public organized a political movement. In 1978, Ghanians formed the Supreme Military Council to fight against British rule.
