- Abstract
The article reports on the announcement made by ministers regarding the redevelopment of the State Hospital in Lanark, Scotland. According to the article, the medical center will have 140 beds, with 12 of them intended for patients with learning disabilities and no facilities for women. In addition, Nicola Sturgeon, cabinet secretary for health and wellbeing, stated that the move was in accordance to the national mental health policy which aims to care for people as near to home as possible.
