- Abstract
This experiment was conducted in the region of Belo Horizonte - MG, on a dairy farm with a herd of 1.600 animals in lactating cows Holstein black and white breed managed in the free stall system. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the occurrence of clinic claudication and the types of injuries foot in a herd of dairy cows during the period April 2008 identify all cows with locomotion scores over two, which were brought to the mechanical restraint trunk to find out the painful condition of the affected area of the claw. Out of 1.600 cattle, 8,5% animals were found to be affections was with type of foot injury. The most frequent injury was the sole ulcer with 51.47%, followed by white line disease with 25.74% and hell erosion with 10.29% of affected animals. For hindlimb and forelimb, hindlimbs were the most affected with 87,5% of injuries.
