Relieving Joint Pain: Planning Government Acquisition of Complex Common Systems.
- Authors
Wicht, Anthony C.; Crawley, Edward F.
- Abstract
The article discusses a study on commonality strategies among government acquisition programs. The study involves three commonality case studies such as the Joint Service project (JTRS) and two nongovernment launch vehicle manufacturers which produce launch vehicles for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Results reveal that government acquisition with mix contractors are the most to gain from commonality.
