- Title
General Duty Clarification Act Reintroduced in the House.
- Abstract
The article reports that U.S. Republicans have reintroduced legislation -- H.R. 888, the General Duty Clarification Act, which would bar the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from regulating chemical facility security under the Clean Air Act to mandate installation of safer technologies at chemical facilities. The reintroduced bill declares that chemical facility security would remain under the exclusive jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and not EPA.
