- Abstract
The article presents a case study of seven unrelated pet hamsters presented with external parasites on their dorsum visible with the naked eye. Topics discussed include demarcation of erythema, alopecia and pruritus over the dorsal neck and dorsal midline, mites attached to the hairs and skin on closer examination of lesions and tropical rat mite infestations mainly in wild rodents as compared to pet rodents due to failure in identification of parasites and paucity of clinical signs.
