The article compares "Billy Budd," by Herman Melville and "The Prussian Officer," by D. H. Lawrence. It is stated that although the two stories are different from one another, still they bear intriguing resemblances. One example is the way the two authors characterize and view their antagonists and also the way they develop and resolve the conflicts in the story.
