- Title
Nobility, Competence, and Disruption: Challenges to Teacher Education.
- Authors
Fenstermacher, Gary D.
- Abstract
The article examines the challenges to teacher education in the U.S. as of April 2015 with regard to the relationship of nobility, disruption, and competence and their value to teacher education. He presents several arguments which include that competence consumes too much education rhetoric and that nobility is alive in schools even if it is almost absent from the rhetoric of education. Also mentioned is the 70th anniversary of nonprofit California Council of Teacher Education in 2015.
