- Abstract
Specimens from soil samples collected at Cocalan, Chile, from the rhizosphere of the Chilean wine palm, Jubaea chilensis, were sent to the Plant Protection Institute, Bari, Italy. The identification revealed the presence of large numbers of Paralongidorus sacchari and a few specimens of Paraxiphidorus michelluci, including several juveniles. Populations were studied morphologically and morphometrically and results are reported herein. Both species represent new records for Chile. Juveniles of Paraxiphidorus michelluci are described for the first time.
