MEMÓRIA, FRAUDE E DOCUMENTAÇÃO: ALEMÃOZINHO E A MEMÓRIA DAS ORDENS.
- Authors
Machado, Paulo Pinheiro
- Abstract
The objective of this article is to analyze how historiography has reported two documents taken by the Brazilian army when groups of peasants involved in the Contestado war appeared in the area of Canoinhas, Santa Catarina. The documents were presented by Henrique Wolland who was also known as "Alemãozinho". The first document was a series of orders prepared by Alemãozinho for the members of his front line of attack; the second document was an "authorization" signed by the "virgin" Maria Rosa. The military narrators and the experts in peasant's affairs have not worried about reflecting the origins of these documents neither the Alemãozinho strategy to negotiate his own surrender.
