- Title
Water Quality in Relation to Farm Use of Fertilizer.
- Authors
Viets Jr., Frank G.
- Abstract
The article discusses the public concern on the deterioration of surface water quality in many areas where the presence of nitrate in the ground water can be found. It is suggested that the concern has resulted for legislators in some states to regulate farm use of fertilizers and for chemical nitrogen fertilizers to be banned. It is inferred that fertilizers contribute significantly to water pollution and that farm use of fertilizers has risen greatly and that many surface waters deteriorated in quality.
