- Abstract
The article proposes and describes method for enhancing the library's biology books in small colleges not granting graduate degrees. It states that a method for evaluating the collection quantitatively is through the application of the library's classification system. It provides the guidelines and procedures for purchasing books including the inclusion of paperbacks and texts, the need for multiple copies, and the completeness in coverage of the various subfields of biology. It includes the need for active intellectual interest of all departmental faculty in the processes of evaluating, determining, and developing as well as executing an institution's library collection in biology.
