- Abstract
The article looks at the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR). It compares the views propounded on the subject by Milton Friedman in his "The Social Responsibility of Business," that was published in "The New York Times Magazine" in 1970, Jeffrey Hollender who is president of Seventh Generation and promoter of CSR in business and David Vogel, author of "The Market for Virtue: The Potential and Limits of Corporate Responsibility." The author also discusses the impact of CSR in the financial performance of companies based on these views.
