- Abstract
In this collaborative proyect is entended that freshmen high school subsystem CCH, UNAM study different concepts related to the structure of matter in the subject of Chemistry I, proposing the identification of metallic and nonmetallic elements in the atmospheres of satrs using the infrasttructure of the Astronomical Observatory of Tonantzintla, Puebla. You may consider astronomy as a multidisciplinary, ie, a field of knowledge in which converge various disciplines such as physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology, etc. giving rise to the subjects commonly integrated curriculum in high school. An astronomical problem can be addressed individually in the field of any of the above disciplines and their integration into a teaching project allows the development of research skills and teamwork of students. Projectbased learning (PBL) allows integrating learning experiences and group work than the tradicional expository method could hardly be achieved. Conducted a research experience with students in four stages: 1) Using specialized software virtual educational observatory (project CLEA). 2) Conducting astronomical observations appropriately selected stars. 3) Analyzing and integrating the results in the corresponding topic. 4) Generating information and data accessible online to other teachers who wish to use in their subject.
