- Abstract
The article looks at the contribution of sound designer and sound editor Alan Splet to the sound and music of the motion picture "The Unbearable Lightning of Being," by Philip Kaufman. Splet, who was born on December 31, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was credited as the sound designer and music editor for the film. It explores the effectivity of various elements of the soundtrack, the use of music, voice and sound effect used by Splet on the film. A brief overview of the film, which is adapted from the novel of the same name by Milan Kundera, is provided.
