- Abstract
The article discusses aspects of misconduct in the public office in Australia such as vicarious liability and exemplary damages. It states that misconduct in the public office allows an individual to recover for the loss or damage suffered consequences conducted by the authorities. It highlights four jurisdictions that are liable for the payment of exemplary damages including in the Commonwealth, Queensland, Western Australia and Northern Territory.
