- Abstract
The article discusses the origins of Shiunko Ointment (SO) or purple cloud ointment (PCO) in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) literature. Also cited are the effectiveness of SO as topical treatment for dry skin, eczema, and insect bites, the ingredients of SO based on the product made by Japanese firm Tsumura & Co. including white beeswax, lard and oil extract, as well as the active ingredients of SO called the dang gui and zi cao.
