The article examines the work of poet John LePage, with focus given to his association with Canada's Prince Edward Island. More specifically, the author is concerned with the ways in which LePage's work reflected the Island's settler society's culture and identity. Poems discussed include "Arrival of the 'Princess of Wales,'" "Address to Prince Edward Island," and "Shooting at Sussex Vale."
