- Abstract
The article focuses on the diagnosis, prevalence and etiology of bilateral patellar tendon rupture among U.S. soldiers. It notes that the risk factors associated with tendon rupture are war fog, wearing of heavy body armor and adrenaline. About 12 of the 52 soldiers who had tendon ruptures at Fort Bragg in North Carolina were patellar tendon rupture. It advises the use of ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to determine changes in the patella tendon fibers and the extent of patella alta.
