- Abstract
A literary criticism is presented in which the author explores the imagery of wolf characters in illustrated versions of the children's tales "The Wolf and the Kids," "The Three Little Pigs," and "Little Red Riding Hood." She addresses the social and cultural information found in the genre of European wolf tales. Also explored are the themes of danger, as symbolized by the wolf character, and deception of the audience by the author and illustrator.
