- Abstract
Tuberculosis is the most common disease of the lungs. It can affect practically all organs of the body but some tissues have particularly high resistance to the infection. Therefore, the extrapulmonary localization of the disease is purely casuistic. We present the case history of a 43-year-old man admitted to the surgery department with a tumor of the abdominal cavity and pulmonary tuberculosis. During the treatment process, diagnosis of abdominal tuberculosis was set up. Moreover Crohn's disease is suspected. The described case history demonstrates that abdominal tuberculosis should be considered in the differential diagnosis in patients with unexplained abdominal complaints and pyrexia of unknown etiology who originate from regions with high or increasing incidence of tuberculosis.
