- Abstract
The article discusses the Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and protections for encryption passwords and computer files as of March 2013, focusing on U.S. Supreme Court (USSC) jurisprudence in regards to the production of documents. America's act-of-production doctrine is addressed, along with the 1976 USSC case Fisher v. U.S. Search and seizure laws in the U.S. are examined, as well as a privilege against self-incrimination and computer security measures.
