- Title
Botulism in cattle associated with poultry litter.
- Abstract
The authors discuss a research study on the association of botulism in cattle with poultry litter. The authors agree that the studies revealed epidemiological factors in 95% of cattle botulism incidents due to proximity to the litter of broiler chicken. An overview of how toxins from Clostridium botulinum bacteria can cause botulism is given. The author suggests that veterinary surgeons should apply for a special treatment certificate from the Veterinary Medicines Directorare to obtain vaccines for animal protection.
