- Abstract
The article discusses the use of a service learning initiative in elementary life science education at the Kennedy Longfellow School (K-Lo) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Topics discussed include the school's inquiry-based approach to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, studies of biodiversity and invasive ecology, and the use of professional development workshops attended by teachers to make the initiative possible.
