- Abstract
This article presents updates on career changes in the textile industry as of December 2004. Kmart Holding Corp. has appointed Aylwin Lewis as president and chief operating officer. Lewis will also join the Kmart Board of Directors. Lewis joins Kmart from YUM! Brands Inc., where he was president and chief multi-branding and operating officer. Lewis received dual bachelor degrees from the University of Houston in both business and management and English literature and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston. Haggar Clothing Co. has appointed Jeffrey Banks as a design consultant for the men's sportswear business. Banks is responsible for leading the design direction for Fall 2005 Haggar knit and woven sport shirts, providing design conceptualization and development. Banks will work closely with the company's product development team. Bank brings to Haggar more than 25 years of fashion and business experience as a leading designer in men's apparel. Dave Thomas was named manager of research and development for Best Manufacturing, an industrial and medical glove maker. Thomas will oversee all research and development functions supporting new product development.
