- Abstract
The article focuses on the life and works of cytogeneticists Cyril Dean Darlington. A South Eastern Agricultural College graduate, Darlington joined the John Innes Horticultural Institution as a young volunteer worker in 1923. With a cytogenetic work that is relevant to evolutionary biology, Darlington's scientific method has a theoretical and speculative approach which is based on deduction from genetic principles.
