- Abstract
The article talks about the conceptual art of California and the use of deadpan in it. Topics discussed include the portrayal of facial expressions in comics and its impassivity; the variations on the format of Conceptual art created by artists such as William Wegman, Allen Ruppersberg, and Martha Rosler; and the photographic works of these artists. Also mentioned are the art "Ingres and Other Parables" by John Baldessari, the installation art by William Leavitt, and the works of artist Martha Rosler in conceptual art.
