- Abstract
This article discusses a retrospective case-control study on congenital ichthyosis, a group of genetic diseases that affect the skin barrier. The study aimed to examine the association between congenital ichthyosis and various comorbidities such as digestive, respiratory, psychiatric, and cardiovascular diseases. The study included 69 patients with congenital ichthyosis and 69 control subjects. The results showed no significant statistical differences in cardiovascular comorbidities between the two groups, but there was a higher prevalence of depression in the congenital ichthyosis group. The study suggests that further research is needed to draw more conclusive conclusions.
