- Abstract
In the summer of 2022, northeast China, especially Liaoning and Jilin, was affected by several rounds of heavy rainfall, which lasted for a long time, and its impact on grain production attracted great attention. Based on the analysis of meteorological observation data and grain yield data, the analysis results showed that in summer 2022, the heat condition in most of Liaoning and Jilin was basically close to the normal year, and the water condition was obviously sufficient, which was generally conducive to the vigorous growth of crops and the formation of yield. However, in the early and middle summer, there was frequent precipitation process, significantly more precipitation, and high overlap degree of falling areas in northern Liaoning and central Jilin. It was rare since 1981 that the farmland wet and waterlogging disaster was prominent, and the crop damage was obvious. In terms of the whole growing season, summer rainy and waterlogging disaster was the main factor affecting crop growth and yield formation in northern Liaoning and central Jilin, and grain production in the affected areas was significantly reduced. Based on the analysis of agrometeorological disasters from spring sowing to the end of August in 2022 and the risk of adverse effects of future autumn climate conditions on crop filling and ripening harvest, it was estimated that the average grain yield per unit area in Fuxin, Tieling and Shenyang in northern Liaoning in 2022 was about 5% lower than the average yield per unit area in the past four years (2018-2021). The average grain yield per unit area in Siping, Liaoyuan and Changchun in central Jilin was about 2.5% lower than that in the past four years. It was estimated that the total accumulated loss of grain output in northern Liaoning and central Jilin (6 cities in the two provinces) in 2022 was about 950 000 tons compared with the normal times.
