Cardiovascular Risk Prediction: Great Changes are Emerging.
- Authors
CINTEZA, Mircea
- Abstract
The article deals with a study published in 2016 that developed a genetic cardiovascular (CV) risk score (GRS) based on more than 49,000 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP). The study showed that the CV risk prediction was improved by the GRS. Another important CV risk factor shown in the study was the degree of methylation of the genes promoting lipid species. The progress in lipidomics analyses is also noted.
