Abstract
The article offers information on the aquaculture hatchery called Little Port Walter Marine Station on the Baranof Island in Southeast Alaska. The facility serves as a remote field station for the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) and fishery research station for the Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC). The station was originally used as herring saltery but served as a federal research station for fish culture for the last 78 years.
