- Abstract
The Holy Qur'an is a comprehensive guide for humanity, addressing diverse facets of women's rights, roles, and responsibilities. Pre-Islamic Arabia witnessed the marginalization of women, devoid of any rights. However, Islam emerged to accentuate the position and status of women, providing them with due recognition and dignity. It delineates guidelines for family life, inheritance, and social justice. Various womens are mentioned in the Qur'an, including Zulekha (the wife of Aziz), Bilquis (the Queen of Sheba), the wife of Hazrat Lut (AS), and Maryam. Islam inherently values and upholds the rights of women. The Qur'an offers legal protections in areas such as marriage, divorce, and inheritance, representing significant progress compared to the situation of women in pre-Islamic society.
