- Abstract
Lecturer Mihai Stoiculescu (1942 - 2017) benefited from a rigorous upbringing and tuition both within his family as well as in the multicultural whereabouts of good old Braşov, where he graduated from «Andrei Şaguna» High-school and the Faculty of Wood Industrialization. He made himself noticed, transferred to Bucharest and was quickly promoted to the wood processing industry unit, added to the university medium in the capital, all of which had been prior to his addition to the State Investment and Trademark Office - OSIM and the private sector. He brought his contribution to the building and start-up of three out of the total six Pipera industrial platforms, granted the outlet of genuine national semi-finite wooden items by the replacement of plywood foils with those of melamine fiber, which was to subsequently be found in the transport construction industry. As head of The Information and Research Office of the Ministry of Forestry Economy and Construction Materials he was an avid activist in the recovery proceedings of the «Forestry Museum» from Bucharest, in the selection and distribution of scientific and technical scoops. From his position of deputy editor in charge of «Mobila» magazine, he supported and obtained a double number of yearly issues, he facilitated the inception and promotion of two new columns. He translated, interpreted and transferred to the economy over 6,000 cutting edge technical and scientific data from the national OSIM patent collection. Throughout his inland business trips to profile units, he endorsed the up-to-date bringing and protection of original technical solutions, which led to a significant rise in patent request forms registered within OSIM, from 2,900 to 6,137 in a ten-year-period. At the Decorative Art Faculty he initiated and supported the «Wood technology», «The history of furniture styles» and «Interior architecture» courses over two decades. He published «The evolution of style furniture» and articles from the domain of furniture industry. In the private sector, as representative and general manager associated to various foreign firms more than on a single occasion, he acted as buffer within the professional Romanian- German-Austrian relations and contributted to the success of BATTENFELD and MAPLAN in Romania. His technical and foreign language skills, as well as his teaching skills, made him valuable, appreciated and highly esteemed.
