- Abstract
The article examines the efficacy of atorvastatin, based on a starting dose according to baseline, in achieving low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) targets in patients with type-2 diabetes mellitus. It shows that atorvastatin reduced the levels of cholesterol, LDL-C, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and tryglicerides. Individualizing the starting dose of atorvastatin according to baseline and target LDL-C levels allows high proportion of type 2 diabetic patients to achieve the target within 24 weeks.
