- Abstract
"100 Years of Women's Suffrage: A University of Illinois Press Anthology" is a collection of twelve essays and excerpts that explores the history of women's suffrage and voting rights in the United States and Europe. The anthology commemorates the centennial of the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment and is divided into two parts, representing the struggle for voting equality before and after the amendment. The first half of the anthology focuses on cultural and political struggles for enfranchisement, while the second half highlights the intersectionality of sexism, racism, and classism in the fight for suffrage. The anthology offers new insights into the field of gender studies and emphasizes the ongoing struggle for inclusive enfranchisement.
