- Abstract
The article focuses on the dispute between the U.S. and European Union concerning genetically modified organisms (GMOs). It evaluates the ability of the World Trade Organization (WTO) to enable a successful importation of GMOs in the EU market and how it addresses the environmental concerns of EU. It outlines some international agreements that affect the trade of GMOs which include the WTO agreements, United Nationals agreements, and the interaction between the Cartagena Protocol and the WTO.
