- Abstract
This paper describes the physics of new camera-based imaging methods for silicon solar cell characterization. The development aims at quantifying the images with respect to physical properties like current, voltage, resistance, and power. This improves the informative value and the comparability of results - at least in the limits of the sometimes simplified models. Selected examples show that the methods provide valuable information for industrial production control and enable new insight into fundamental effects of solar cell and semiconductor physics.
