- Authors
Andrews, Edna
- Abstract
The article focuses on the role of semiotic principles from semioticians Charles Sanders Pierce and Yuri Lotman in the work of linguist Grace Fielder. Topics include a discussion of Fielder's publications such as "Lost in Translation: Discourse Markers in Bai Ganyo" which made important claims about Lotmanian and Piercean semiotics, the application of Peircean signs such as interpretants and true triadic sign types, and the compatibility of Lotman's semiosphere and Peircean sign categories.
