- Abstract
The article provides a clarification of an innovation in the verbal morphology of Bulgarian and Macedonian languages. Topics include a description of the dual status of Bulgarian and Macedonian as a linguistic unity designated East Balkan Slavic, details of alternative interpretations relating to areal linguistics in which Bulgarian and Macedonian languages belong, and some facts relating to the conjugational unit and the morphology of past time in East Balkan Slavic and the issues they raise.
