- Abstract
The article presents information on a survey among general dental practitioners in Edinburgh to assess their attitudes and behaviors relating to HIV positive patients. The survey revealed three factors influences the behavior of dental practitioners. These behaviors include the provision of specialist facilities for HIV positive patients, the costs of taking prescribed precautions, and the public's perception about HIV positive patients. The survey indicates that there will always be a need for specialist dental services for AIDS victims.
