- Authors
Dye, Thomas R.
- Abstract
The relationship between political variables and educational outcomes has seldom been investigated at the state level. Political science literature has generally asserted that the attributes of political systems strongly affect policy decisions. Through various statistical tests, utilizing census data, the author has tried to determine whether or not certain political influences in education do exist; his findings are presented below. This research was supported in part by the Division of Elementary-Secondary Research of the U.S. Office of Education. Mr. Dye is chairman of the political science department at the University of Georgia.
