Self-irrigating rhubarb.
Abstract
The article reports on desert rhubarb self-irrigating mechanism determined by researchers at the Department of Science Education-Biology in Haifa-Oranim University Israel. It states that the mechanism of the desert rhubarb enables it to harvest 16 times the amount of water that is expected for plants in the region. The desert rhubarb grows in Negev desert of Israel and is noted with remarkably big leaves wrapped with a waxy cuticle.
