- Title
Beyond "Surreptitious Staring": Migration, Missions, and the Generativity of Mormonism for the Comparative and Translocative Study of Religion.
- Authors
Tweed, Thomas A.
- Abstract
An essay is presented on the migration, missions and the generativity of Mormonism. It recalls how 19th century American author Mark Twain defended Mormonism at a time when there were few defenders suggesting that there was nothing wrong with the teachings of Mormons. It describes how, like the Roman Catholic Church or the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, Mormonism has become a transnational organization.
