- Abstract
The soybean (Glycine Max) genetic improvement is advanced, however, its maximal productivity could not be reached. Despite their restricted genetic base, it is expected improvement in breeding to obtain new cultivars with high production levels. The aim of this work was to investigate the genotype by environment interaction in soybean using three-mode principal component analysis. A total of 44 and 23 genotypes were evaluated, respectively, in 2000 and 2001 agricultural years. A randomized block design with two replications stratified into three experimental groups with common checks (IAC 100, Ocepar 4, IAS 5 e Primavera) was used. The following factors were considered for analysis: genotypes (G1, G2, G3..., G44), environments (combination of the Anhembi-AN and Areão-AR localities with the intensive-COM and ecological-SEM insect control), and attributes (yield and components). Three-mode principal component analysis was implemented. The genotypes of numbers 2, 3, 23, 28, 36, 38, and 44 showed good tolerance to bugs and yield in AN_COM environment. The genotypes of numbers 7, 17, 21, 29, 35, 37, and 40, interact positively with AR_SEM environment with specific adaptability and stability resulting in high yields.
