- Abstract
Based on an analysis of political texts by Friedrich Georg Jünger, Helmut Schelsky, and Alexander Gauland, the article reconstructs three distinct positions towards ecological sustainability in right-wing political thought: an anti-modernist position, a technocratic position, and a right-wing populist position. This suggests that the collective singular »the right« is misleading with regard to the sustainability issue, as it obscures far-reaching substantive differences in right-wing political thought. The right-wing populist position also proves to be more open towards sustainability than the dominant interpretation of right-wing populism as being an anti-sustainability ideology would suggest.
