- Abstract
Although one might think that the "debate" to define the legal nature of water has been resolved in all latitudes of the world (in terms of confirming it as a human right), the reality is that this is not the case. In Mexico there is still a wide normativity that gives it the category of "thing" susceptible to private appropriation, either through the rules of private law, or through the rules of administrative law, through the figure of the concession. That is why in Mexico it becomes relevant to analyze the regulations in the matter, through descriptions and highlighting the most relevant peculiarities of it, so that reality is contextualized. The essential objective of the article is to contribute from the academy to the resolution of the debate in question.
