- Abstract
The study of leadership has focused mainly in the development of the capacities of the leaders to deliver results through their work teams. Leader is considered an individual who responds to the objectives of the organizations also individually; and poses, with better skills and abilities, it will give the best results for the companies. The leader usually plays around a group of people, working teams, who he or she directs towards the achievement of goals and objectives. However, the study of the impact that has on aspects such as motivation, collaboration, ethics, commitment and emotional intelligence of his or her collaborators has been left aside, even when these elements have proved to be important to produce results in companies. This research focuses on the analysis of the impact that leaders have in these aspects. Results from analyzed investigations show that there is a strong relationship between the behavior of the leader and the mentioned attitudes. It is concluded that the style of leadership is not what strikes, but the behaviors related to three issues: 1) influence and motivate; 2) maintaining effective relationships; and 3) decision making. Then, special emphasis should be made on these behaviors, in order to generate the attitudes expected in the work teams within the organizations
