An essay is presented on the concept of exile in playwright Eugène Ionesco's works. It states that Ionesco's theatre is considered as Francophone, however it reportedly links two cultures while being owned entirely to neither. It profiles Ionesco who is half French and half Romanian. It adds that Ionesco left Romania as he was dismayed by facism in the country. It also offers information on several of his works including "Rhinocéros" which made him famous.
