- Abstract
Objective: to describe the behaviors of Nursing undergraduates in the learning of communication in mental health. Method: qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study, with 23 students of the Nursing course, in two meetings in the classroom. The instruments for the production of knowledge are called "Game of Luck" and "Experience of the Sociocommunicating Senses of the Body". Content Analysis, was performed in the Thematic Categorical Analysis modality. Results: triangulation of the data, from each body direction, revealed the behaviors antecedent to communication in mental health. The vision provided the recognition of the fear itself. The olfaction allowed to detect the absent care in the hospitalization. The palate defined the relationship with the world and the experiences with people and things. Conclusion: the body senses were fundamental during the training process, revealing, from the perception of the communication, the need to intensify the provision of patient care.
